We welcome and affirm people of all abilities. We have taken the following steps to assure that no one is excluded from full participation in the life of our church.
PARKING AND TRANSIT: There are 4 permitted parking spaces in the lot in front of the church for those displaying appropriate handicap placards.
MOBILITY: Our sanctuary, fellowship hall and religious exploration classrooms are fully accessible to those using wheelchairs or having limited mobility. Our accessible entrance is through the glass doors directly off the parking lot. We have a fully accessible uni-sex bathroom off the hallway between the sanctuary and fellowship hall.
VISION: Large print hymnals and Orders of Service are always available. Please ask any usher for assistance. If you would like an orientation tour of the church during the week, contact the church office to make arrangements.
HEARING: We have an FM Listening System for hearing assistance using receivers, earphones and neckloops. During all church events in the sanctuary, anyone wishing to speak from the audience is strongly encouraged to use the portable microphones so those using our auditory enhancement system are not excluded.
SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN: If you want your child to participate in the religious exploration program and feel that they may require accommodation due to a disability, or other issues which would be of benefit for us to know when interacting with your child, please contact the Director of Religious Exploration in advance so we can be as sensitive as possible to his/her needs.
PASTORAL CARE: We provide pastoral care to all members regardless of ability. Members of our lay pastoral care team receive periodic special training to assist those who may feel unwelcome, patronized or marginalized because of their disability. They may not be able to fully remedy every situation, but they can provide a compassionate ear and a willingness to enlist the help of others. If you have a hidden disability that you think it’s important for someone to know, please contact a member of the pastoral care team (Parish Services) or contact the minister to share your information in confidence.
SERVICE ANIMALS: We have grassy areas where service animals may relieve themselves.
If you have any questions not answered or concerns not addressed, please contact the church office at 508-853-1942, ext. 102 or to seek further information.
