We will meet in the church parking lot at 140 Shore Drive in Worcester at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 27, and drive to the Miller family wood lot in Princeton, MA.
After a 100 yard walk into the woods, We will set up camp around our lean-to (log shelter). After lunch and on Sunday, we will hike in the adjacent wild lands, including some bushwhacking and a section of the Mid State Trail running through these woods.
This is a beautiful area of rolling hills, mixed hardwoods and pines, wetlands, a river, and a pond. Including a wildlife corridor valued by conservation organizations, the area is inhabited by abundant wildlife. In addition to porcupines, the tracks of coyotes, snowshoe hares, squirrels, beaver, and mice, fisher, bear, and moose have been sighted in the area from time to time.
