Our Garden-On Team will be partnering with the Worcester Native Plant Initiative to present a free Winter Sow program this Saturday, January 24th, here at UUCW.
Please bring three empty translucent milk jugs, two to take home and one to donate back to the Initiative. Each person will receive two free native seed packets to winter sow.
Winter sowing in milk jugs is a method of starting seeds outdoors during winter by using recycled plastic containers as mini-greenhouses. This technique allows seeds that require cold stratification to germinate naturally, making it simple and cost-effective for gardeners.
