There’s lots of work to do before the mid-terms and we now have less than 100 days to make an impact on our democracy. Help empower voters to make their voices heard for the Midterm elections! The current priorities are postcards and letters to voters in Georgia and North Carolina.
Write postcards with Reclaim Our Vote (ROV)
Vickie Cox-Lanyon still has plenty of names/addresses and postcards to go to Black voters in Georgia for November’s election. We need more people to take one or more packets of 30 to prepare before October 5th. That gives you 2 months to work on them! For more information and instructions, go to postcard information. Join Vickie and me for a postcard writing party while the Refillery is at UUCW between 4 and 7 PM. We can catch folks who may want information on voting at the same time. Write letters to voters with Vote Forward
The campaign for sending an Election Planner to newly registered voters in PA has run out of names but they also have a campaign to write to voters in NC. Although labeled as a political campaign, it is a non-partisan message, referring voters to Ballotpedia, a non-partisan resource. Go to https://votefwd.org/get-involved#downballot to print out your letters. The template leaves room to write a statement of why voting matters to you and then needs to be put in an envelope with the address of the voter. Letters are to be mailed in October. You can download a batch of 5 to practice and then try 20. Take a batch with you on vacation…they take up very little room in a suitcase or tote bag.

Put your faith into action and fight against voter suppression. Each call, postcard and letter can make a difference! Keep track of your activities (# of calls, postcards and/or letters) and report them to Beth for meeting our Good Trouble Congregation goals.
