UUCW Refugee Ministry Team – Afghan Refugee Family Update

There are many good things happening with our Afghan family.  They have been for rides to see the area. They have been grocery shopping. Some of the men in the family went to the mosque last Friday. They have been able to reconnect with some Afghan friends.

Maya has stolen the hearts of “the littles” as she calls them. She gets right in there playing, laughing and tickling. The girls have received nail polish and lip color! They are very engaging and interested in learning new things.

Dianne has established a wonderful rapport with Mom. They are bonding over crochet!

Those are all good things, but we continue to have two major needs:

1. Until they are able to work and earn money (which they are VERY eager to do), we will have to continue to fundraise. Twelve people have a lot of needs!

2. We also still need to find safe, affordable housing for them.

At this point we are not accepting any donations except money until we clarify where they will be living.
