We are never quite alone; the ghosts of our past walk with us, from our own regrets to
our ancestors’ legacies to the long history of racism and sexism that lingers in our world.
Some ghosts offer wisdom, lighting the way toward a more just and loving life. Others
feed on our fear and complacency, and the spiritual work before us is learning which
ghosts to welcome and which to starve. Please note that this sermon will touch upon
issues of racism and sexism.
