Dear friends,
You are warmly invited to a special talk this Sunday, November 8, at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary of the UU Church of Worcester.
Our speaker is Rafał Pankowski, a Polish sociologist and political scientist, associate professor at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, and a co-founder of the “Never Again” Association, where he heads its East Europe Monitoring Center and edits the magazine Nigdy Więcej (“Never Again”). For nearly thirty years he has combined historical commemoration with civil society action — monitoring antisemitism and right-wing extremism, pressing companies and parliaments to act, and building democratic culture in Poland. His work has been honored with the Polish Ombudsman’s badge and the Polcul Award.
His talk is titled “The Meaning of ‘NEVER AGAIN’: Historical Commemoration and Civil Society Activism for Peace in Europe Today.”
All are welcome, and I hope you can join us.
Best,
Matt Johnsen, Music Director
