The book group returns after summer hiatus on Wednesday, September 13th at 7 PM in Fellowship Hall. We will discuss David McCullough’s historical non-fiction work “The Pioneers: The Heroic Story of the Settlers Who Brough the American Ideal West.” The book chronicles the settling of the Ohio wilderness starting in 1788 under the leadership of General Rufus Putnam (Rutland MA) They prohibited slavery, demanded freedom of religion and universal education.
You’re welcome if you haven’t finished the book, and even if you’ve not read it but want to listen in on the discussion.
Our books include fiction and non-fiction and are chosen by our members. Contact the Book Club at firstname.lastname@example.org if interested in joining us and to get a copy of the current reading list. All readers are welcome.
Our October book is “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus; we will meet on the 11th.
