UUCW Refugee Ministry Team – Afghan Refugee Family Update – May 10, 2022

Since the arrival of the 12-member Afghan family we are supporting as they transition to life in the U.S. , we have helped them do many things.  We helped them:

  • Find and furnish an apartment
  • Helped enroll all the children in school
  • Helped enroll them in benefit plans and healthcare
  • Found jobs for the three oldest Sons and the Father
  • Provided transportation to medical appointments
  • Assisted with food shopping
  • Scheduled outings for the children and family
  • Provided transportation to ESL classes
  • Helped them learn how to use the bus
  • Assisted them set up bank accounts and learn our monetary system
  • Helped them learn English

               THE LIST GOES ON…

We are pleased to do this work but could always use your help.  We are confident that with enough support not only will they succeed but they will thrive.  If you are able to assist financially with support at this time, please click on this link: https://secure.givelively.org/teams/ascentria-care-alliance/help-afghan-families/allyship

Thanks for your help.  It takes a new village to help a family.
