You’re Invited to the UUCW Community Art Show “The Only Thing More Powerful Than Hate Is Love” to be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Join us at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester for a vibrant, heart-opening art show that brings our community together through creativity, truth-telling, and love in action.

This special event will fill our garden and indoor spaces with visual art, spoken word, dance, music, and storytelling from local and emerging artists, centering voices and visions that challenge racism and oppression.

What to Expect

• Powerful artwork exploring liberation, solidarity, repair, and joy
• Opportunities to meet artists, hear their stories behind their work, and purchase art
• Performances and shared moments of reflection
• A welcoming, multi-age community space grounded in UU values

Supporting artists may sell their work, and donations during the program will support artists and more anti-racism/community justice efforts (details shared at the event).

This is more than an art show—it’s a gathering of neighbors, creatives, and justice-seekers who believe that love is stronger than hate.

Come wander, listen, reflect, celebrate, and be moved.

The Yard Sale will take place on June 8.  We will accept donations at the church on the following dates and times:  Wednesday, June 5 and Thursday,  June 6 from 9 am – 7 pm and Friday, June 7 from 9 am – noon.  All donations must be clean and in good working condition.  Donations are clothing, linens, sports equipment , toys, electronics, holiday items, artwork and household items.  Furniture will be accepted only if the person donating is willing to take it back if it doesn’t sell.  We still need volunteers to help with set up, help on the day of the sale, and unload non-sold items after the sale.  If you are interested in helping please be in touch with either one of us.  Please contact us now if you’re interested, or CLICK HERE for information and a link to sign up!  We look forward to another robust and lucrative sale this year!

With there being no book room this year at the June 8th Yard Sale, I can make a suggestion for a place to bring your unwanted books, CDs, DVDs and jigsaw puzzles.

These items, if in good condition, can be brought to the Worcester Main Library Bookstore at 3 Salem Street, during store hours.

Bookstore hours are:

Tuesday through Friday 10-5

Saturday 10-1:30

Bring no more than four bags or boxes of sellable items.

The Bookstore is operated by the Friends of the Worcester Public Library. All profits from the store support programs at the Main Library and its branches.

One of our favorite and our most lucrative fundraiser will soon be up on us.  The 2024 Yard Sale will be held the first weekend in June.  And, it takes a village so we are hoping that many of you will step up to volunteer.

We need lots of people to monitor the rooms and sell things.  This year we will have general things in Fellowship Hall, an Arts and Crafts Room, electronics, sports equipment, linens, clothing and furniture.  Most importantly we need someone to take over the toy room which was run by our beloved Sandra Ansaldi for as many years as we can remember.  We will spend a couple of days getting things set up and then open the doors.  Any time you can dedicate will be greatly appreciated.

We also need you to start getting things ready to donate.  Items that are clean, workable and in good shape are always greatly accepted.  If you have any questions about what we will and won’t take, please let us know.

We look forward to having a great group of volunteers this year so please let us know if you are interested.

On Saint Patrick’s Day, Rev. Payson introduced the congregation to a Spring Gnome gifted to him by Dot Woodcock from Elder Services Worcester.  This popular little friend currently goes without a name and we want to correct that ASAP!  

So we are sponsoring a contest to NAME OUR GNOME! The names are in and it is time to VOTE! The winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the UUA In-Spirit Bookstore.
