Sabbatical info in brief

To protect our congregation information from online predation, a link to the Sabbatical Handbook will not be posted to UUCW’s website. The 2024 Sabbatical Handbook provides detailed information and will be provided on request by email to sabbatical@uucworcester.org.  Printed copies will be distributed at Sunday service and can be mailed by phone request.

For the duration of the access and security improvements project that began on January 6 and should run through January 24, we have marked off Meeting Room 2 (the center meeting room) as off limits to all, other than staff and the crew from American Alarm, so they have the ability to store their tools and materials in the building overnight. If you were scheduled to meet in Meeting Room 2, please meet in Meeting Room 3 instead. Thank you!

UUCW is hosting at the In The Hour of Need (IHN) family shelter the week of May 5 through May 11.  IHN works in partnership with the faith community to provide shelter and assistance to families with children who are homeless. The program’s primary goals are to assist families in increasing their income and to help them secure permanent housing, while providing the critical support services necessary for them to succeed.  

I invite you to sign up for an evening (5:30-8:30) or an overnight slot (8:30 pm-6:30 am Sun-Thurs/8:30 pm-8:30 am Fri & Sat). 

New people are welcome.  We will give you a tour of the house and review their guidelines before volunteering.  You may also join someone that has already signed up or visit Sheri at 91 June Street for a tour.  If you’ve been thinking about it or have questions, please email me at sueneaz at townisp dot com or slinn at ihnworcester dot org

The program’s primary goals are to assist families in increasing their income and to help them secure permanent housing, while providing the critical support services necessary for them to succeed.  

I invite you to sign up for an evening (5:30-8:30) or an overnight slot (8:30 pm-6:30 am Sun-Thurs/8:30 pm-8:30 am Fri & Sat). 

New people are welcome.  The families are wonderful, the children play together and they all take care of each other.  The families make their own dinner so you can bring something for yourself if you’d like as the evening host.  There are cots for sleeping and you bring your own bedding for the overnight host.  All that is required of you is to be there for support.  If you’re crafty and want to engage the children, please do.
