UUCW is the legacy of The First Universalist Church of Worcester, established in 1841. The congregation is located across from Indian Lake in the north-west part of the city. In its present location since 1956, UUCW is a vibrant community for all ages, committed to love, hope, and justice, inspiring people to take on the challenges of a changing world.

I hope this message finds you well and surrounded by peace.

I am writing with exciting news — and a heartfelt invitation. Our church is hosting a Gala Evening on December 13th, from 6-10pm at the Jean McDonough Arts Center in Worcester. Our goal is to raise funds for the care and preservation of our beloved church home — the place that welcomes us week after week for worship, laughter, meals, music, and the many moments that bind us together as a community.

Over the years, our building has become far more than a space of worship. It has grown into a true home — a gathering place where friendships are formed, classes inspire growth, families celebrate milestones, and neighbors find comfort and belonging. It is a cornerstone of our shared life, and we hope to ensure it remains strong and welcoming for generations to come.

This Gala will be a beautiful evening filled with wonderful food, joyful music, heartfelt laughter, and cherished companionship — a celebration of all that our church means to us, and an opportunity to give back to the space that gives so much.

The post A Special Evening to Celebrate and Support Our Church Home – December 13, 6 – 10 PM first appeared on Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester.

Join UUCW and four other congregations to raise money and awareness to combat hunger.
A quarter of CROP Walk proceeds fight hunger in our community (Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry receives a portion!), the other 75% goes to international programs to support women, provide clean water to communities, and fight hunger.

The CROP Walk is at 1 p.m. on October 19 at 346 Shrewsbury Street in Holden. Participants are invited to gather after the walk to enjoy food and live music and an unveiling of the fundraising total!

3 ways to support CROP walk:

• Donate and/or join the walk
• Volunteer at the event on October 19
• Cook (we need lots of cookie bakers and one soup maker)
