  Mission  
 
The primary focus of the Human Resource Committee is the annual compensation review of all church employees. We review UUA guidelines and make salary and benefit recommendations to the Board that will appropriately compensate our staff based on their experience and skills. In addition, we provide input to the annual budget review process based on our compensation proposal. We are advocates for becoming a “Fair Compensation” employer, a UUA classification that honors salary and benefit packages for church employees that meet certain guidelines. We also provide formal notification of salary changes to all Church staff once a new annual budget is approved.

Updating contracts, ensuring adequate job descriptions, and developing job descriptions for new positions are also part of our responsibility as well as providing input and facilitating compensation agreements for new hires.

The H.R. Committee has also been involved in a multi-year effort as the Safe Congregation Task Force in support of a Board initiative to develop a comprehensive safe congregation policy and associated procedures for our church. Components of this policy include Child and Youth Protection and Spiritual Care as well as many others.
