How often we focus this care on others and neglect self-care and self-kindness! Scientists have documented that 8 weeks of compassion training can make our temperament significantly more positive! We can reduce negative thought patterns and increase happiness, self-confidence and altruistic behavior!

“Cultivating a state of loving, connected presence can change our relationship with ourselves and the world around us.” (Neff, Germer)

Presented by: Johanna Spencer, LMHC, a life-long UU, Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 30 years experience integrating mindfulness with psychotherapy. She practices in Worcester and Gardner with adults, teens, couples, and groups to manage issues with anxiety, stress, depression, compulsive behaviors, parenting, and life/career transitions. Johanna trained in the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Program at UMASS Medical Center with Jon Kabat -Zinn and holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School.

If you want ongoing support to apply the Mindfulness of Self-compassion tools more consistently you can choose to sign up for a 4 week series to learn and practice tools to reduce stress, anxiety and quiet the “inner critic”. Most of us take care of others and run out of steam when it is time to care for ourselves! We need practice to treat ourselves as well as we do our best friends. Come commit to investing time, care and energy in YOU!! YOU deserve kindness and self-care. The ripple effects spread to whomever our lives touch throughout our interconnected web.
